The Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall resort is located in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It’s an all-inclusive paradise with all food and drinks included for the entirety of your stay. I visited this resort in February 2025 with my husband Mike and our friends Sheena and Dustin. We stayed for four nights total.

The Hyatt Ziva shares the property with the Hyatt Zilara. The difference in the properties is whether children are allowed. The Ziva side is family-friendly, while the Zilara side is adults only. All adults can visit either resort, but kids must stay on the Ziva side. While our group was only adults, the rates at Ziva were a little cheaper and we knew we could visit both sides.

Getting to the Resort

Once you arrive at the Montego Bay airport, you’ll make your way through customs and pick up your checked bags. Before the airport exit, you’ll see a lounge for the Hyatt properties where you can start the check-in process and put your name in the queue for the shuttle. The shuttle costs $39 per adult and $19 per child, round trip. The ride to the resort takes about ten minutes.

The staff whisked our bags away upon arrival and we were shown to a check-in desk. The check-in process was pretty straightforward and then we were shown to our room.

Restaurants

There are eight restaurants to choose from between the two resorts, which was plenty for our four days here. All of the restaurants are sit-down, a la carte menus except for the one buffet called Choicez. Most of the restaurants accept reservations, but you cannot make them until you check in and have a room number. As soon as we checked in and were settled, we headed to the concierge desk to make reservations for our four nights there.

Our two favorite dinner restaurants were Petit Pariz (French food) and Urban Heatz (international food). At Petit Pariz, I had the ribeye steak and creme brulee for dessert. Both were delicious! At Urban Heatz we had scallops for appetizers, and I had the beef entree. The scallops were so delicious that we ordered about four more rounds of them (the perks of an all-inclusive!).

Ribeye at Petit Pariz

We also ate at Di Roza (Italian food) and Fuzion (Asian food). Both were very good, but don’t stand out in my mind looking back quite as much as Petit Pariz and Urban Heatz.

The dining options were more limited for breakfast and lunch. We tried all the options, which included Choicez buffet for breakfast and lunch, Calypso for breakfast and lunch, Barefoot Jerkz for lunch, West End Grill for lunch, a pizza place that was open most of the day, and Union Jack’z English Pub for a late-night meal. They were all good, but not as great as our dinners were.

Room service is also available. The price of the food is included in your stay, but they will charge a service delivery fee of $10.

Drinks

The drinks were generally good for an all-inclusive! I was most impressed by the bartender Donjay at the swim-up pool bar. There were always people waiting for a drink, but he was cranking them out left and right! I thought they had a good selection of drink options. They had the option to upgrade to top-shelf liquor, wine, or beer if you wanted to pay extra, but we were good with the quality they provided in the standard all-inclusive package.

Pool and Beach

Seating

One thing I’ve noticed staying at previous resorts is how quickly the pool and beach chairs will get reserved. During our stay at Sandals Curacao, we would get up early and save our chairs before we went to breakfast each morning. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how there always seemed to be plenty of chairs. There are two pools: adults only on the Zilara side and the family-friendly Ziva pool. We spent all of our pool time on the Zilara side. Both pools’ chairs seemed to mostly fill up by late morning time while we were there. The beach always had chairs available, no matter what time of day we went.

Beach

There are two sides of the beach, the adult-only and kid-friendly options. Each side is not huge, but there seemed to be plenty of room for the amount of people there. Most people seemed to prefer to hang out at the pool.

Spa

Mike and I got a couple’s massage on our last full day. The spa was really nice and included a sauna, steam room, hot tub, and plunge room! The rooms where they offer massages are located right on the beach. The massage therapists open the doors up once you’re settled so you can feel the ocean breeze and hear the sounds of crashing waves. It was heavenly!

Rooms

Our room was so nice! We had a balcony with a partial ocean view. The room was big, and the air conditioning worked great. Housekeeping filled up our fridge each day if we took any drinks or snacks out (all included with the price of the room).

Weather

The weather was beyond perfect while we were there in mid-February. Highs were in the mid-80s, but there was a constant breeze around the entire resort, which made it very pleasant. February falls in Jamaica’s dry season. We did not experience any rain while we were there.

Activities & Entertainment

Yoga

The resort offers yoga twice each morning, which was a nice perk for me! I attended yoga three out of our four mornings there and loved it. They hold the classes out on the pier over the ocean. It was so relaxing to hear the waves crashing during class! I recommend getting there at least 10 minutes early to get a good spot in the shade. The people who got there later were in the back in the sun.

Nightly Entertainment

There was some sort of entertainment every night, whether that was a DJ, silent disco, live band, or dancers. It was fun to have something to do after dinner each night. We also really liked hanging out in the English Pub, where they had pool and some games to play.

Gym

The gym is massive! We didn’t actually use it while we were here, but there were tons of equipment options.

Costs

In mid-February, we paid about $600 per night for two people. This included the room and all food, drinks, and activities we participated in. I thought this was comparable to other all-inclusives I’ve seen.

Overall Thoughts

We had a great time overall! I thought the food and drinks were very good, we had beautiful views around the resort, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were comfortable. I would recommend staying here and we would come back!
